Exceeding the Challenge
Our team is made up of the president's plane (a Boeing 747), its escorts, attack and reconnaissance aircraft, surveyors, interceptors, airlift operation crews, and many other jobs which would regularly be found in the U.S. Air Force. Occasionally, different rankings and aircraft are temporarily used, but these are the main aircraft. The Boeing 747, or the president's plane, was chosen to be modeled for the Air Force One because of its fuel efficiency and large living space. In the case that the president is in danger and all of the nearby airports are closed, the aircraft can sustain staying in the air for more than a couple of days. The Boeing F/A-18 Hornet is used by the team as the main escort aircraft because of its incredible versatility. This innovative aircraft has a large fuel capacity, at the same time consuming the fuel efficiently. Because of its design, the Hornet can make flips, turns, and dives while surviving several G's. The aerodynamics are very accurate and the plane's dashboard is user-friendly. As newer planes are created, the team updates its current livery of aircraft in order to keep up with the modern society today. We also use an innovative program called Teamspeak 3; this program enables the team to talk, chat, and create other functions. This way, the team can communicate frequently and is connected.
